Our Healthcare Assistant is a non-registered Nursing staff member who assists in patient care and Practice related duties, such as monitoring infection control as directed by and under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional (including Lead Practice Nurse, Practice Manager and GPs). Healthcare Assistants work collaboratively with the General Practice Team to meet the needs of patients, and provide essential task-orientated services like taking blood samples (phlebotomy), processing specimens, spirometry (to measure lung function) and long term condition reviews such as Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Dementia and Hypertension. She also plays a lead role in all seasonal vaccination programmes. Verginiya plays a crucial role in supporting both the Clinical and Management Teams.
